Spread Joy Through Metro Ministries’ Operation Holiday Hope

I want to invite you to check out a simple way you can spread joy this Christmas through Brooklyn, NY-based Metro Ministries and their Operation Holiday Hope 12-day campaign.

Metro Ministries is a global Christian ministry that has worked with children in metropolitan areas around the world through inner city Sunday school classes for more than three decades. Through December 12th, Metro Ministries will be posting the amazing stories of 12 children helped by their initiative, and it’s something we all could benefit by learning about with our families.

The 12-day Operation Holiday Hope campaign is their biggest outreach effort of the season and the chance to give a child a Christmas they will never forget. A simple $10 donation puts a wrapped present in the arms of a child and gives them a thrill of hope, knowing someone is thinking and caring about them.

If you’d like to learn more, just check out their Facebook page! It’s a simple way we all can give back and instill a little bit of hope to kids in need this Christmas!

Am I Enough?

I felt God asking me just now, “Am I enough”?
cone family kids cut out 300x225 Am I Enough? As I stepped out of the shower this morning, I discovered this photo in the trash. Last night I had to cut out a picture of my kids to put on an ornament for school. Granted I was the one who had done the dirty work, but when I saw the image of them cut out of our lives this morning, it was almost too much for me to bear.

That was when I immediately heard God say, “Am I enough?”

I didn’t feel like He was trying to take my children or my husband away from me for that matter, but I just felt like it was a wake-up call to realize that sometimes I put my hope and love in things other than Him.

We always say that God is enough, but do we mean it? It’s easy to get wrapped up in those we love, but if we don’t go back and draw from the One who loved us first, we will never be able to give them all the love they deserve!
