I pray a lot about walking in God’s will.  I pray and ask for him to reveal his calling on my life.  Sometimes, I believe I may be too legalistic about even that.  It’s not always about where we are, but what are we doing where he has put us.  Our primary purpose is to proclaim his name and make disciples of all nations (from Matt 19:28-29).  How can we do that if we are afraid to even say his name in public?

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes – Rom 1:16

It is true that our world has become very politically correct.  Many of our workplaces and schools do not permit us to openly preach the gospel.  However, nothing prevents us from sharing our personal testimony with those who are interested.  There should never be a moment of hesitation when it comes to sharing what God has done in your life.

Magician and self-proclaimed atheist, Penn Gillette, once posted a YouTube video about the great deal of respect he had for a man who came to several of his concerts and then approached him afterwards with sincere compliments and a Bible. While he remained unmoved in his religious opinion despite the genuine efforts of his fan, he commended him for living out his faith, citing the following example:

“If you saw someone standing in the street about to get hit by a truck, genuinely believed they would die, yet did nothing to warn that person, what kind of a human being would you be? So who are you as a Christian if you genuinely believe someone will suffer eternal damnation if they do not believe in Jesus, yet you fail to expose them to that life changing truth with them? He was the most honest man I’ve ever met.”

Pray specifically for the opportunity and boldness to witness to someone today.  It may be a co-worker, a waiter, or someone on the street; whoever it is, don’t let the opportunity pass by to welcome them into the kingdom of heaven. 

So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord…who has saved us and called us to a holy life-not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day. -2 Tim 1:8-10, 12b
