That night the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you and will increase the number of your descendants for the sake of my servant Abraham.” – Genesis 26:24

Do not be afraid…

Once A Day Bible Reading Plan & Devotion Day 20

Day 20 Devotion: Do Not Be Afraid

I never cease to be amazed at how just four words can be so comforting.

Do not be afraid.

In the face of seemingly insurmountable circumstances, God tells us, “Do not be afraid.”
In the midst of battles (both literal and figurative), God’s word reminds us, “Do not be afraid.”
Even today, no matter what seems to be staring us down telling us we are not enough and cannot survive, God’s truth remains: DO NOT BE AFRAID.

So my words will remain few as well, because God’s words are so powerful and poignant that they can stand alone.

If you haven’t lately, I recommend you say these four words aloud right now. What may seem like only a whisper when read in your head becomes a war cry when spoken aloud.
