I’ve been slacking in posting my meal plans for you since my triumphant 30 meals for $30 post…I guess it took more out of me than I realized
But in all seriousness, I jumped back on the horse this weekend and cooked up a storm Saturday night.
While Ricky has been out of town every weekend working on the Winter Jam Tour, it’s left me a little more freedom to experiment with just me & the kids at home.
So on Fridays after I pick the kids up from school, we head over to the library to pick a movie for family fun night. While they look for books, I’ve also been thumbing through the cookbook section.
I’ve also fallen in love with Homemade Pantry:
The first night I got it, I started in on homemade jam & pie crust to make homemade pop tarts. There is no comparison between the store bought (40+ ingredients, most of which I cannot pronounce) and the homemade version (5 basic ingredients most people already keep in their fridge/pantry).
So on Saturday, not only did we make tacos & salsa from 5 Dollar Dinners, but I also made meatballs & sauce, roasted broccoli cheese soup & banana bread (technically Kariss made that…all by herself even!).
As always, I hope you take what’s helpful for you and just leave what’s not. Here you go:
