When Sofia the First came on the scene last year, we celebrated with a princess party that even the boys enjoyed because of the ‘prince’ly swords and mentions in ‘Royal Prep’ Academy.
Our kids (6 & 8 at the time) LOVED the new addition to the Disney Junior TV lineup…with one exception: they couldn’t watch it.
Not because I wouldn’t allow them, but because Sophia the First came on TV while they were at school.
We had recently done away with our DVR to save money in our monthly budget. So though they had found a new favorite show, it seemed like they would never be able to watch it again.
But then the Easter bunny delivered the new Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess DVD with sing-along, there were some happy faces in the Cone family!
The one thing Disney has always done a brilliant job with his appealing to both boys and girls alike, no matter whether it’s a pirate movie or a princess movie.
Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess is no different. Though I will say that the princess and training activity kit with stickers and tiaras will probably be reserved for my daughter alone
The one disappointment was that the kids were expecting there to be some Sofia the First episodes on the DVD as well, but it was just the full-length original movie. My daughter especially enjoyed all the add-ons that came with the film however, so that kept her intrigued and entertained.
