Extreme Couponing Store Coupon Policy: Talk of the Town 10/4

In light of the launch of TLC’s Extreme Couponing, there have been a TON of store coupon policy changes. So for those of us who are simply trying to put more money in our family’s budget every week by using coupons, I’m breaking down the new policies for you today (10/4) on Talk of the Town.

In general, most stores still:
*Accept one manufacturer’s coupon & one store coupon per item (except Kroger)
*Reserve the right to limit quantities purchased
*Limit the number of coupons you can print online to two

Most stores will not:
*Accept “free” item internet coupons, or copies of internet coupons (each have individual bar code).
*Let you combine digital/internet with paper coupons
*Give you money back or take more money off than the value of the actual product

Here are some things to keep in mind for each individual store (keep in mind that these apply to the Nashville area – check with your local store to verify their coupon policy):

Kroger Coupon Policy

-policies vary by region, but ours no longer take competitor coupons because of their “already low prices”
-they’re moving to eCoupons – your eCoupon will over-ride the manufacturer’s coupon because the register sees it first.
-Doubles manufacturer’s coupons up to $.50 every day

Publix Coupon Policy

-Does not explicitly limit # of items purchased, but reserves right to.
-Can call ahead if you know you want to make a large purchase and have them order more of a certain product.
-Only competitor coupon they accept is for Kroger.
-Doubles manufacturer’s coupons up to $.50 every day

-limit of 3 like items per purchase (2 of same internet coupon)
-Doubles manufacturer’s coupons up to $.99 every day
-Often has Super Double & Triple Coupon events

-find store coupons online or in store in Whole Deal
-Can get money back still if you bring your own bags or your own containers for bulk items.
- Has 100% Satisfaction Policy

I’ll be filling this in with individual drugstore policies as well, but just keep in mind the general rules mentioned at the beginning of this post.

Harris Teeter Super Doubles FREE Coupon Match-Ups May 3

Harris Teeter Super Doubles are back from April 27 – May 3, 2011!

Hopefully you’ve already been taking advantage of the Harris Teeter Super Doubles coupon event that’s been going on since last Wednesday, but just in case, I wanted to post the FREE coupon match-ups I’ve found (as well as some good deals).

To be completely honest, I just have the date of the coupon inserts written down in my notebook, so I don’t remember exact prices, but I’ll do my best to steer you in the right direction I’ll put the list in chronological order of coupon insert date:

1/23 RP 7th Generation Tissue (some of these were expired/some weren’t – use the $1 coupon to get facial tissue free…tissue is on sale for $1.50 and coupon will double to cover the cost)

2/13 SS Tony’s Pizza (not free, but you’ll end up paying $.17 for each pizza)

3/6 SS Philadelphia Cooking Creme ($1.50 coupon doubles to make this free)

3/13 SS Hidden Valley Salad Kits – FREE!

4/17 SS2 Ritz Crackerfuls (Coupon says “Do Not Double” – some stores will double, some will not – free if they do!)
—- this insert also has coupons for new Wheat Thins Crunch Stix, Kraft Big Slice Cheese and Kraft Homestyle Mac & Cheese…all great deals with the doubled coupon!

4/17 RP2 Perdue Shortcuts (these are on sale for $3.50 each and with the doubled $1 coupon, end up costing $1.50)
—I love these for making my Buffalo Chicken Chimichangas! These fully cooked chicken strips are great to have in the freezer to have on hand to add in salads, pasta or Mexican dishes. A great deal for a last minute menu item!
